  • Dome causing problems with Google Play Store

I have just discovered today that dome was the cause of Play store issues... The play store is not blocked, but nobody has been able to download or install/update apps from the store, at least not reliably. It might take dozens of attempts to install an app, but most of the time it either won;t download or will download but won't install, probably because it is corrupt.

As soon as I switched DNS away from dome, the problem went away and all devices could install/update again.

No issues like that here with a Huawei P9 Lite and Comodo Dome installed.

It is not limited to specific model/brand, it affects ALL our mobile devices.
I have to disable dome just to update apps.

Really odd you get this issue, not seen it which is great for me.

Only issue I do notice is the nightly WhatsApp back fails 50% of the time meaning I have to stop it and start again but does work via VPN.

If I disable VPN for the night backup always works.

Could be another app you have installed that could be conflicting with Dome VPN unless you see blocks / denies in the Dome logs.

We are not using dome VPN on any device, just using dome DNS.

I am only using DOME at router level, there is no app installed on the mobile devices.
Despite having disabled dome 2 weeks ago and having barely used it due to this issue, I somehow am now "non compliant".

I have just discovered https://cleanbrowsing.org/ which so far seems to be working as intended without any caveats.

Not sure what is going on with your account to be honest.

Something must be up with the settings within Dome Shield. I know there are sometimes issues but these have been a lot better of late.

Cleanbrowsing looks interesting, but I'm sure the Comodo team can turn this around.

I am now being told that I have somehow used more than 300,000 DNS requests, even though I have not been using dome for weeks and it was not assigned to any devices, and so have to signup for platinum?
