Depending on the the size of the company. Some clients I use DFS and have a copy on multiple servers, while other companies, I employ Acronis with a NAS device.
What size do you want to back up and i’ll give you a couple Datto options
Interesting. Can we do a comparison. I’ll offer what we would do ;).
on a side note anybody going to the Datto meeting next Wednesday in Birmingham??
For pricing model for us it varies based on the customer. But what we try to target is a lease computer model. Contract is a three year term for the lease and the contract includes full support for the PC hardware. Any virus issues and other software related things are given a small amount of hours free per month, depending on the number of endpoints we are supporting per month, then billed separately after that time is done. Price is put together per customer based on the required computer specs and other needs.
Systems that are not leased from us are determined based on needs of the specific client. This is also on a 3 year term as well. I like the idea of the higher price until we get things smoothed out though, so I may look at putting in a higher for the first year for messy clients.
For backups we use Cloudberry as well. I have been happy with it, support has responded fairly quickly to any issues. I have just been using the image based level license which includes everything from file level to full image backups. Generally our backups are just server side, shared folder is created on the server where users store data so we aren’t running backups for each endpoint individually. Might look at testing out the cloudberry virtual environment backup options with a VMWare ESXi host as well.
Keeping meaning to but never get there as too busy.
are we looking at buy or sell price?
Cost to customer. Including hardware, install and monthly cost.
Ok…
Lets see now, good this forum as tables lol

We have other services like SaaS backup, protected NAS boxes and more; but the above I believe is what people were after.
Food for thought, thanks.
Bit of a big post but hopefully it helps.
This is our end user pricing too; so room for profit etc.
The ALTO options are very good and make the system very competitive.
Are the above process setup on the customers site (labour) or is this just the base costs?
Ok so I do things slightly different
S3-X2 comparison on VM’s
lets take a 2 VM setup with 2TB of allowed storage onsite and in the Cloud, FULL DR as Datto both on and offsite…
The BDR would be £1750 setup and installed. i7,32GB ram, dual 1GB nic OS ssd and 2TB ssd for storage, (datto hold back some of the storage space for their OS)
The monthly cost offsite would be £200pm.
Now my other point against Datto S3-X1,2,4, perhaps @StrobeTech can chime in, but for 2 VM environment with say a DC and SQL the S3-X2 has only an i3 with 16GB ram? your up to the X4 at 2.7K for the i5 and 32GB ram. I feel these are under powered?
And the offsite rises to near £500 if you want to run 4 VM’s (we would be £360)
The other point is profit !, this needs to be discussed as this is how we all survive !!
thoughts ??
James.
Our prices are installed for that, this is part of the monthly fee we feel.
The SIRIS 3-X2 specs are: -
2TB SSD
i3-5010U CPU (performs very well as linux host uses nothing so almost full power to VMs)
16GB RAM
2x 1GbE
The SIRIS 3-X4 specs are: -
4TB SSD
i5-7200U CPU
32GB RAM
1x 1GbE
The S3-XP??? range are all Xeon based and start with 48GB of RAM
Some may think these are under powered but the systems do run OK from experience… Not as fast granted but it better than the systems being down full stop. Also, if you virtualised in the cloud instead you have a much bigger pool of resources so not as restrictive etc.
If you are worried about the system or have hungry systems like that they do have the full SIRIS range which starts with Xeon’s and 32GB RAM and a 500GB storage; but this is about a little more than the X2; but obviously much better.
Profit wise, very good tbh
