Remote Desktop Implementation

Good day,

Can someone enlighten me as to how the RMM software package implements it’s Remote Desktop software? The setup feels like it is a derivative of VNC (I can be completely wrong) and am curious as to what measures are being used to secure these remote connections in terms of authentication and encryption. The best I can find for documentation is as follows:

Are items sent from the RMM console to the endpoint terminal encrypted? Are they uniquely encrypted per terminal?

Thank you for your time,

Royce B.

Hello,

We are using SSL socket standard encryption. We use OpenSSL library for this.

Does the Remote Desktop component allow control of Linux and Mac workstations?

Hello,
Currently the RMM agent can only be deployed to windows endpoints.

Linux and Mac are coming soon to RMM.

I havent used RMM, hence no idea. But what I use for remote desktop is tools like R-HUB remote support servers. I prefer it because it provides a simple and easy to use interface and works on all platforms viz Windows, MAC, Android, iOS etc.
