Im trying to block internet access such as websites like yahoo, facebook, pretty much everything accept for local dns setting. Ive tried messing with some settings and configurations to what i think should work but no luck, any help is appreciated.

You can simply place it as your gateway device for your LAN devices. Then create a firewall rule that would block all traffic from LAN to the Internet and not only web traffic but all ports and protocols would be blocked.That will leave local DNS untouched. Moreover, you can use Dome Firewall Virtual Appliance’s DHCP Server to set your Local DNS to PCs as well.
