so have a customer who’s 2010 can’t get to the supported SP to be compatable with 2016.
question. Will 2016 install ok and then can I manually export/import pst’s. What about the OAB and system mailboxes. ??

would be interested to know why you cannot upgrade the Exchange server.
how many mailboxes do you have, as a manual migration like you suggest is possible but with many or large mailboxes would be a pain.
Had a problem installing sp3 for 2010 which we have now done. RU 11 is also required but this applied ok. We had to use msizap to remove historic files before the sp would apply. Now we ran AD prep and it’s finding 2003 remnants!!! So now have to ADSIEDIT to remove these ;( wish people would finish off the migrations fully !!!
Even if it was finished properly MS Exchange a very messy beast.
Even worse if you ever migrate SBS to separate systems.
