Feature Request: List current logged on or last logged on user in ITSM Device List

It would be really helpful to show in the ITSM Device List the current or most recently logged on user (that isn’t admin ideally) for the computers listed if you can squeeze it in somehow.

Why?

When people call or email for service they often don’t know what their computer name is and it’s another step you have to take them through. Yes, I know they can open a ticket from the Comodo System Tray icon which will include those details, but as an MSP we also do VOIP for customers and set up an internal phone extension that maps to our helpdesk ring group, so most times users just pick up the phone. We drill down to Company -> Groups -> Desktop in Device List to narrow things down (we could go department if we had sites that big) but it would be great to know which machine they were on based on their name likely matching a domain login.

Thanks in advance for consideration of this feature/change.

Hi @indieserve

Is that okay for you if we provide a script that can get you currently logged in user name or last logged in user name?

Let me know your feedback.

Thanks,
Kannan

Thank you.

Hi Jordan/MKannan/Purushothaman,

I can find out the logged in user by clicking on each machine and then clicking summary. The point of listing the logged in user in the ITSM Device List would be to speed up remote support when you have a customer on the phone. (Since you will be able to easily identify which computer the customer is logged in to). The old RMM tool shows this in the list of machines you can “Takeover” but the new ITSM does not show this. To be honest, if space on the list is a concern it would be more useful to show the current/last logged in user than the “Owner” of the device (since it’s usually just an ITSM admin/tech account anyway).

I don’t think a script would be an efficient way to handle this.

@indieserve Thank you for your suggestions. We have forwarded your feature request related to this forum post and we will update you through email.

Fantastic that this feature has been added! Could I ask for the column width be increased, however?

Usually, we can only see the domain\ part of a username, but there is plenty of width available, especially when one collapses the tree views:

Also, could the Last Activity columns - in fact ALL instances of time stamps - respect the profile regional settings? So for us in the UK, and many other parts of the world, be in standard 24 Hour HH:MM:SS format?

Hi @amcssit ,

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your thoughts about this feature. We will inform our Product Development Team regarding this and we’ll email you for the updates.
