1.) ITarian would fix the option INSTALL OR UPDATE PACKAGES > INSTALL ADDITIONAL COMODO PACKAGES > INSTALL COMODO CLIENT - SECURITY so that it would install OVER an existing installation instead of just giving me crap about “Feature is unavailable because CCS has already been installed on these devices.”
2.) ITarian had a way to contact the client communication agent and put it to a “hyper listen” mode for the next 15 minutes to speed up communications to the cloud. IE get it to respond faster, refresh faster, update faster, instead of waiting for a heartbeat every 15 minutes.
3.) ITarian had custom report designing (or had a 3rd party cloud add-in for it) that would let me dig down into the data.
Thank you very much for providing us your suggestions for a Feature Request. Your inputs are important to us as they will help to improve the usefulness of ITarian for the entire users’ community. We’ve created a support ticket for your requests. Please respond to the email we’ve sent you so we can escalate the requests to our developers.
Thanks for the followup. Here is a copy of each of the 3 items and a more detailed breakdown:
1.) ITarian would fix the option INSTALL OR UPDATE PACKAGES > INSTALL ADDITIONAL COMODO PACKAGES > INSTALL COMODO CLIENT - SECURITY so that it would install OVER an existing installation instead of just giving me crap about “Feature is unavailable because CCS has already been installed on these devices.”
Because the new version will not install over or auto-upgrade the old version, you have to remove old versions first before you can install another client. This is INCREDIBLY inefficient with you are dealing with multiple machines. It would be SO much easier if the installer would simply say “Another version is installed that is NEWER (OR OLDER) than the version you are installing. Do you want to continue?” And also have an option to “install quietly” without the prompt so you can do it to multiple machines in batch without being prompted.
2.) ITarian had a way to contact the client communication agent and put it to a “hyper listen” mode for the next 15 minutes to speed up communications to the cloud. IE get it to respond faster, refresh faster, update faster, instead of waiting for a heartbeat every 15 minutes.
Waiting for a client machine to check in takes way too long. When you are attempting to get an updated status from the machine, for example when you are running a script or an installation, etc, it takes forever to come back. Instead of the client agent checking with the server every 10 minutes, it should check in every ONE minute during these situations: 1.) When the machine first boots or reboots. 2.) when any script is running and for the 10 minutes after it completes. 3.) When any remote access session is initiated. 4.) When a command is sent from the server to tell the machine to check in.
3.) ITarian had custom report designing (or had a 3rd party cloud add-in for it) that would let me dig down into the data.
Just add crystal reports and give it read-only access to the tables. Some users will study the table structure and build reports and publish them, and some users will copy reports that other users publish. ITarian doesn’t need to write reports anymore. It is now crowd driven.
