@BOSS
A similar issue with blocked Java-based apps has been reported recently by another user. Can you perhaps share with us the names of these Java-based apps that were affected? (At least, those apps that you are allowed to share.)
WiTech and StarParts
I am now having to leave endpoint unprotected, so they can do their job. I really do not like doing this, especially with all the encryption viruses going around lately. I would appreciate it if you all could rush this issue, as it is now a huge security risk, and I paid for the CCS so I could have my endpoints secured.
Containment rules which were working in CCS8 are now not working in CCS10, will turn containment off for the workstations affected until I have tested CCS10 further.
Hello @mhberglund,
We appreciate that you let us know about the containment rules not being applied on the CCS10. May we ask if the rules that you set are for the known programs or random? Thank you
We are also experiencing problems with the CCS10 update. Users receive persistent popup messages that the client cannot be started. Rebooting does not help. Uninstalling fails about 50% of the time, and when successful breaks all network connections.
I guess about 30% to 40% of users experience the same issues on at least 4 different sites. With the network connections that go down after uninstall it means we have to drive out to each site. It is a major problem.
@Samuel_C Rules are for known programs. For one client the Line Of Business apps are accessed via a mapped network drive. The rules to exclude the mapped network drive were working in CCS8.
Hi @TechishSA , @mhberglund ,
Thank you for reporting this case, we will further investigate this issue and we will get back to you as soon as possible through email.
I’m currently on site, an got everything working on a couple of machines by following this steps :
- Uninstall CCS using Revo Uninstaller (which leaves the network connection unresponsive)
2.Run CCleaner’s registry tool which delete left over registry entries - Restart machine. Network connection fixed.
- Reinstall CD’s using Bulk Installation file downloaded from Comodo One portal.
Unfortunately I have a dozen more machines to fix while the users breath down my neck, so I can’t investigate further. Will try to replicate problem on a test machine once all my clients are happy.
Hi @TechishSA ,
We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Our Development Team are currently working on it and looking for a best way to fix the issue.
We will provide an update as soon as possible. Thank you.
I am also seeing the CCS 10 is now blocking MS Excel, and maybe other things. I am also wondering if anyone else is having issues with extremely high HD usage now??? many of my computers are now having issues with the HD filling up at an alarming rate, and I can not seem to see where the usage is coming from. Never had this issue before the latest update, and not sure it is coming from the software, but very suspicious, along with everything else. I am going to dig down, but I have been managing some of these systems for 5 years, and the problem is just showing up, I am also doing the same maintenance on them…
OK, found the issue, the comodo log files were building up to 30-50 GB!!! That’s crazy, is there a way to keep the files from getting that big???
Hi @BOSS
Can you try to remove the profile associated with the affected device and the readd the profile once more. As for the RMM logs growing, please utilize this script in clearing the logs https://c1forum.comodo.com/forum/script-library/14087-request-rmm-log-cleanup-would-like-to-use-as-a-scheduled-task . Please give us an update as soon as you’re done performing the suggestions we’ve made. Thank you
Thanks, I will modify this script to suit my needs, the logs I am talking about are in the C:\Program Files\COMODO\RMM Agent Service\logs folder. I guess this is a by product of still using the admin console, exclusively.
Hi @BOSS
If required, Please use below script to reset containment,

Hello @jeff.copeland
We have received reports of users having CCS failures after the July 14th release. Rest assured that our developers are round the clock working on this issue. We have created a support ticket on your case and will get in touch with you for any update as soon as possible.
Is it Excel 2016? If it is, we are seeing issues with the Digital Certificate on the file, which is down to to a Microsoft issue, but then Comodo (correctly ?) sandboxes the ,exe due to the certificate error. I’ve logged this with Comodo and development are looking into it.
The workaround is as follows:
For MS Office issue try this:
- In ITSM go to Settings then system templates>File group variables>Type name of new file group, put in “MSOffice” then hit the + .
You will now see MSOffice on list of file group, Click it then add C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office* (it depends on your installation path.) - In ITSM go to Configuration templates>Profiles then select the profile associated on the affected devices, click containment section then Rules then add rule.
Action = Ignore, Type = File group, Target = MSOffice clcik ok. and do not forget to save it.
I will double look, but I made that exclusion a long time ago, and it was working great before. I will look again, and see if the update done something to my exclusion.
On a side note, I am no longer able to leave containment on on any endpoint. When I get a chance, I will look deeper into these issues, just nnot enough time right now.
The biggest issue we have had is that CCS10’s firewall module is broken stopping access to most things. We have been working with Comodo to fix this but in the meantime while they correct the firewall driver’s code we have had to disable it which has solved all the problems.
HI @StrobeTech @jeff.copeland,
Thank you for everyone’s understanding and trust in the system - as our CEO has committed to everyone, stability is the main focus.
