PLEASE HELP-Uninstalling Comodo Client Security

I have destroyed the installation for Comodo Client Security on lots of machines at one of my clients. I need to massivly uninstall and reinstall the product but there is no script that can do it. There is a procedure called “Uninstall Comodo Client Security and Communication Client without a reboot” but I don’t want to uninstall the Communcations client. I don’t know enough to chop this script up to just make it uninstall just the Comodo Client Security can someone please help me?

I use the uninstalled tool for a clean uninstall.

I need to reinstall it again if that wasn’t already clear

Yes just reinstall from the dashboard.

What, really? I’ll look for that option now. Where is it?

Hold up are you using the comodo one/ITarian? If you are here is the link.

Oh i’m sorry I missed your first post. Is there anyway to turn that tool into a procedure?

Sorry, I cannot answer that I haven’t tried it through a procedure, one of the ITarian staff will have to chime in on that.

Hi @nykcrawford
Currently, there is no available script that utilizes the Comodo Uninstaller Tool (that @libretech linked in his first reply to you). You will have to manually run the tool on each endpoint.

Re-deploying CCS though on multiple endpoints will be easy as you can simply do it through the Endpoint Manager (EM or formerly ITSM).

The problem is that the CCS (AV package) does not uninstall correctly on most machines since V10.

There are scripts to remove but they do not work well, best is always use the remove tool which is a manual process and deploy again from the portal.

This is something the team need to work on more than anything being honest.

Hi @nykcrawford,

You can use the following scripts from this site. I’ve used it before and it worked well for me without removing the communication agent. Just import and approve it in the procedure section of the endpoint manager application and you should be able to use it.

Hi Jerick
it’s possible to include in this script or having another script in order to remove also the “COMODO Client - Comunication Updater” that is still present in software installed ?

@liviodaina ,

You can utilize this script procedure for removing the CCC Updater https://scripts.itarian.com/frontend/web/topic/remove-ccc-updater .

Hello. I have one Server 2012 installation of ONLY the Communication Client, not security, where the installation fails to find the portal and running uninstall from CP-Programs and Features will not uninstall it. Does anyone know if any of the links above will work to uninstall the Communication Client only?

Thanks for your help.

@freesys ,

Coming from this thread, we would like to clarify your scenario. You are tyring to install the communication agent on the server but gets an error. Was there a previous installation of the agent? Does the server appear on the EM Portal as enrolled?

Hi @freesys ,

If the communication agent that you installed is not working, there’s a possibility that you renamed the installer. If ever you renamed it I suggest that you get a new installer. If you’re having trouble uninstalling the agent you can try a 3rd party removal uninstaller tool.

Thanks. Because I don’t know what I am doing I renamed the installer for the end user to understand what it was. When he installed the Communication Client it asked for Host, Port and Token. I want to uninstall it and install one that has not been renamed as suggested by support emails. When I try, it fails saying it must be uninstalled by an Administrator. This is a Server. Only administrators can logon, an Administrator is doing the uninstall. Since I can’t uninstall it from CP-Programs and Features I was looking for either a script or a list of how to uninstall so I can reinstall one that has not been renamed.

Hi @freesys ,

If you have python installed on the server you can run the script on the link below which can help you uninstall the agent.

“If you’re having trouble uninstalling the agent you can try a 3rd party removal uninstaller tool.”

Do you have any suggestions for an uninstaller tool?

This post from the Microsoft TechNet forums can help with your concern, @freesys.
