Protecting against laptop theft

I see with mobile devices the option to remote wipe easily. This option is not available on the Windows machines, at least not obviously. What procedures/actions can you suggest to protect against laptop theft. My client is looking for remote wipe capabilities or anything else to provide him with some confidence that the data on their laptops can not be accessed if the computer is stolen.

Thank you

@TechNextDoor ,

The Remote Wipe Functionality for Windows machines is still under development. As of the moment, we have a way of wiping out other data present on the machines drive (except System Volume or Drive) via script procedure https://scripts.itarian.com/frontend/web/topic/erase-data-in-computer .

@TechNextDoor I suggest you look at encrypting the laptops’ storage, since remote wipe assumes the machine will be connected to the internet to facilitate the process. You probably need to use Bitlocker https://www.zdnet.com/article/windows-10-experts-guide-everything-you-need-to-know-about-bitlocker/
