Question on the patch update procedure

I have a question about how the patch update procedure works in the ITSM. I use a WSUS server to manage updates on the LAN. I approve the updates through there and the updates are downloaded by the client PC’s. If I use the patch update procedure and tell it to check for and install updates on the schedule I determine, does it work within the confines of WSUS? I basically like having the ITSM agents act as a backup to enforce the installation of patches since client computers don’t appear to always logoff and restart by GPO settings alone.

Good day!
As per our Development Team, “We don’t have our own infrastructure integrated in OS for patch management. Our agent connects to Windows update service and all operations are performed basing on OS settings. So for our Patch Management it doesn’t matter what is used for updates - Windows Live update server or WSUS”.
