Bug Reports - Issues for ITarian Patch Management

Hi @BJWTech

We investigated both of the issues.

We released an update for Patch agent to eliminate the Issue 1. We are watching the system to see the results and if any more action is needed but I can tell that we are on top of this issue.

We also have a fix for issue 2 and it should be live by tomorrow morning.

So, please test them again by tomorrow and let us know if you still observe these.

Best regards,
Ilker

OK. I will check tonight. For Issue 2, I setup a policy to try and do one update on one endpoint. For Issue 1, I will try to delete one of the ones I setup and do a fresh install using the combo exe package on Fri.

Issue was fixed for a while, but it came back.

Hello @Goober ,

We will reopen the previous ticket to further investigate this issue.

Hello @trg,
Please send an email to c1-support@comodo.com with the screenshot , and a little more information , so we can identify the issue and fix it.

Hello @trg,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We have escalated the case to our development team and we will advise by email as soon as the issue has been fixed.

I am unable to get any patch to install on any endpoint. It always fails with a ttl error, which I know means time to live. So the operation keeps timing out.
I tried to push a single patch instead of an operation, to see if that would fix the problem. Unfortunately it also failed with ttl.

Has anyone been able to get patch management to work?

Hello @Larry_NSIT ,

On one of the endpoints, please go to Control Panel - Programs and features and check the “Comodo One Patch Management Agent” version.
What is the version of the agent installed on the endpoint ?

the version installed is 3.2.0.0

Hello @Larry_NSIT

Please collect and send the PM Agent logs from that machine to c1-support@comodo.com and also mention the Forum ID and post so we may link it.

For Windows:

  • These logs are located in the following paths:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Comodo\Comodo One Patch Management Agent\logs.
    C:\ProgramData\ComodoPatchAgentUpdaterInstallUpdate.log file

I got it to work by completely removing C1 patch agent and rmm agent then re-installing.

1.Attempted to install RMM Agent and Patch Management on a workstation via a URL generated by RMM Admin Console

2.RMM agent installed fine but patch manager threw the following error

Downloading RMM Agent Installer
Download finished. Beginning RMM Agent installation process.
RMM Agent installation finished.
Retrieving Patch Management download details.
Error retrieving Patch Management download details. Retrying…
Error retrieving Patch Management download details. Retrying…
Failed to retrieve Patch Management download details.

3.Expected Agent to successfully install

4.Probably can easily be replicated but I have limited access to this machine so testing may take a few days

5.I’m unsure the cause we have two identical workstations on the same network running win7 one installs successfully the other fails

Hello @madcow007 ,

There is a known issue with the RMM/PM combined agent that is currently under investigation.
We would recommend you to install the Patch management standalone agent using the following methods:

In the RMM Console, go to Procedures, Create a new procedure and use the Application Installer action.
Inside Application Installer you have the possibility to choose Install Type: Patch management install.
That is predefined, so nothing more to do but save the procedure and run it on the desired machines.

Please keep in mind that Patch Management agent might show up in the Patch Management Console with a delay of 10 - 15 minutes.

Thanks for the prompt reply @Scott that worked

I rarely see Notepad++ on systems, maybe once a year but I’ve seen it pop up in PM on a few systems and thought it as odd but left it at that. Just now, went to manually check one of my elderly clients today and noticed N++ on her Custom update list. There’s no way this client runs it so, via Screenconnect, used an extension that pulls up the list of installed software: N++ is not installed but it IS showing up in PM as a custom update.

Hello,
@PromptCare

We took note of your query, we will get back to you shortly.

I’m also looking at the PM list of OS updates and not seeing any for Windows 10, even though I’ve got at least a couple of dozen clients running Win10. Why is that?

Hello @PromptCare ,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We will need to escalate this case and we will get back to you as soon as we have more information on this.

Thank you for you patience!

Hello @PromptCare

Yes, we did request the logs, but those were not logs from the website but from the Agents that you have installed on that Windows 10 machine.
Without the Agents, the website cannot display any information for you computer.
You can simply collect them from these locations and send them to us on a ticket.

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Comodo\Comodo One Patch Management Agent\logs.
  • C:\ProgramData\ComodoPatchAgentUpdaterInstallUpdate.log file
Thank you.

Trying to access the Patch Management module since the last update. Currently I get the error : ‘The server closed the connection without sending data’ or the blue orb showing it’s trying to load.
