@pcdoctoronline Hello,
Please send a screenshot showing that Remote Monitoring & Management option is On under Extensions, and a second one that will display that the section Install MSI/Packages does not have the option to install the RMM agent to c1-support@comodo.com in order to further investigate this case.
Please include your account admin email in the same message.
So to be clear, you have to install RMM/PM on the machiens twice to get them in the admin console and under the new ITSM?? My ITSM is completely empty while I have almost 200 clients deployed thus far that rmm admin I see fine. Not sure I follow the disconnect here.
And it seems odd that enrollment in RMM is based on the device while enrollment for ITSM is based on the user?? This is not making much sense.
Hello @azon2111
You would need to install the Comodo One Client - Communication and the RMM Agent in order to see the device in the ITSM Device List and in the RMM Administrative Console.
Prior to the update in December 2015, the RMM was a standalone module. After that update, the RMM got integrated in the ITSM (formally known as CDM - Comodo Device Manager).
At the moment, even though the RMM is integrated in ITSM, it still requires the RMM Agent to be installed on a machine for it to become available in the RMM Technician Console.
Enrollment in ITSM is based on users because you can enroll multiple devices (and device types) per user. The RMM is focused on Windows devices for you to monitor and manage.
Thank you.
Where is the deployment tool for this comm agent located in the comodo one portal? thanks.
Hello @azon2111 ,
It is in the Bulk Installation Package menu.
And what about devices that belong to orgs and not individuals? Especially where there are multiple users at one device.
is the x86 required for x86 machines and x64 required for x64 machines (i.e. not like MS Office where you typically want to run the x86 version of the apps instead of the x64 versions even though the Win OS is x64 based)? thanks.
Hello @azon2111 ,
To answer your first question, by design in ITSM a device is associated with an user, and an user is associated with a company. For the devices that don’t have a specific user, like servers or devices with multiple users, you can enroll all of them under an ITSM user created for this purpose (e.g. an admin of that company).
About your second question, assuming that you are talking about the RMM agent, the version of the agent will be installed accordingly to the machine type, so yes, x86 machines will have installed the x86 packages and x64 machines will use x64 package.
I was referring to the one here https://one.comodo.com/app/#/licensed-applications/it_and_security_manager in the “Offline Package” and you see Comodo ONE Client - Security x86 Comodo ONE Client - Security x64 options, but I will go ahead and assume the same as RMM since that makes sense.
As to the first part, you are saying that you create a new user called “COMPANY NAME” Admin and attach to said company and other user accounts for things as needed.
Hello @azon2111 ,
If you will try to run the security package on the wrong platform, the installation will be aborted and because of that we provide 2 offline packages. Having both packages in just one file would increase the size of package that would have to be transferred (almost doubled it in size).
Regarding the device association, indeed, you can create users like AdminOfCompanyX and assign all the ‘userless’ devices to this user.
I cannot deploy x64 nor x86 package on a Win 10 Pro install.
Hello @azon2111 ,
We will contact you on email to get to the bottom of this issue.
Thanks Nick!
Hiya Nick: Thanks for all that you do. I am unable to find Settings/ Enable RMM Extension. Can you post a screenshot?
Hi @Rickkee
I will get back to you on the ticket in order to keep you on the loop with the status of the migration.
I will also send a feature request on your behalf of the scroll bar on the left side on the ITSM console in order to be able to navigate through all the items.
Harvey, my understanding is that the scheduled maintenance was going to include a migration path for all C1 users from RMM clients to ITSM clients as to not have to manually redeploy.
Can you confirm this and also how we will go about executing this migration.
Thank You in Advance!
Hello @azon2111 ,
To try and clarify.
Today’s release will include a fix that will place the devices in the right Companies on the RMM side, when enrolled through ITSM.
Until now they were placed under the default Company in the RMM Console, regardless of their Company association in ITSM.
Migrating existing RMM devices into ITSM is scheduled for later this week (around mid week).
