I had a look at the iOS Store option in ITSM and found that there is no way to target which devices get the software advertisement. It appears that it cant even be filtered by company, so I am assuming that if I set an application to mandatory it would install on all iOS devices enrolled in ITSM?
At the current time there is not an option to select the specific iOS devices or filter them by company; when you select an application to be mandatory It will not be installed automatically on the device.
Is there any plans down the track to look at limiting by a group or something like that?, It would be really handy to be able to create a software group that will get a specific set of apps that I just add what ever devices I want into it and they will pick up the apps. I only have my own personal iPads in there so its not a big issue at the moment but if I was to take on management of iPads it would be useful to be able to target applications with this
Yes, application assignment will also be part of the profile. So, you can customize which devices to get which applications and in which format (optional / mandatory).
